Our Grade Prep blog

Welcome Back!

Welcome to Term 2 Prep families!

It has been lovely to see all the smiling faces of the Preps back in the classrooms and eager to share their stories from the holidays. We hope everyone was able to rest up and relax whenever they could!

We have begun the week swapping stories about our holidays, even playing a holiday bingo game to find friends in the classroom who have done similar things to us over the break. The Preps have then drawn and written recounts about three of their favourite memories from the holidays.

This week we have been exploring the /h/ sound while discussing our /h/olidays. Please make sure you ask your child about the cued articulation hand signal for the sound, and discuss when you can hear the sound in your take home readers.

We do have a busy term ahead of us! A few reminders for events coming up soon:

Teddy Bears!

Next week don’t forget to bring in a teddy bear that you don’t mind letting have a sleepover at school for the week. The teddy needs to be labelled, as these bears are known for being cheeky and leaving the classroom during the night! We also ask that a picnic rug or blanket is brought to school so we can have a teddy bear picnic in Black’s Walk when the weather permits.

Grandparent’s Morning Tea – Wednesday the 27th of April.

We will be posting our letters to our grandparents on Monday. If you have still not brought an envelope with a name and address on the front, please do so Monday morning! The Grandparents or special friends will then be coming to visit on Wednesday the 27th of April.

Prep Working Bee – Saturday the 30th of April

A great chance to meet other Prep parents and help with some chores around the school. Please see newsletter for more information.
